***Kath and Kim News***

***Kath and Kim news***

The fantastic Kath and Kim will finally release their first movie - Kath and Kimderella - on 6 September in Australia, presumably to be released worldwide shortly after. The last TV series was done back in 2007 and it's been a long time without those Fountain Lakes gals. For those Kath and Kim virgins out there, this comedy series follows a high-maintenance Melbourne mum, Kath, and her wayward daughter, Kim. Their everyday lives are a riot and the supporting characters are so much fun. Kim's "second best friend" Sharon, for example, suffers from various sporting injuries and each episode she has a different part of her body bandaged or in plaster. Interestingly, the actress - Magda Szubanski - recently came out as being gay on Australian TV, in support of gay marriage. Good on her.

If you have not come across this TV show, I urge you to give it a try.
Catch phrases abound and the writing is really tight, particularly in the first two series.
Do not be fooled, however. The US version (released in 2008) is a pitiful attempt at imitation. What were they thinking? Check out the original - such an underrated gem.
When I saw the news on the movie, I couldn't help but smile and the release date is now underlined in my Wonder Woman diary (best keep that to yourself)
